Westinghouse 501B6 85MW Gas Turbines - 2 available

ARC Power Systems is offering a major power-generation equipment package centered on two matching Westinghouse 501B6 dual-fuel gas turbine-generator sets located at the former Coolwater Generating Plant in Southern California.

The units operated in combined-cycle service and may also be redeployed for simple-cycle operation. Each turbine is rated at approximately 73 MW nominal, with the B6 configuration capable of producing up to approximately 85 MW per unit—up to 170 MW total generating capacity.

Plant records state that both turbines underwent major rebuild work in 2014, returned to service in 2015, and accumulated less than 200 operating hours following the rebuild. Total lifetime operating hours are approximately 100,000 per unit. After retirement, the equipment was placed into long-term preservation.
